Rough Strawberry Quartz on Metal Stand

Rough strawberry quartz on a metal display stand, averaging 5 to 6 inches overall. The dark rose-red colour comes from inclusions of hematite and mica caught inside the quartz as it grew.

Quartz is one of the commonest minerals in the Earth's crust and takes its colour from whatever else is present while it forms. Size, shape and colour vary, so yours will be comparable to those photographed rather than identical.
