Thunder Egg Slice, Cut Agate Nodule Cross-Section — Morocco

A thunder egg cut open and sliced flat. These form as gas pockets inside rhyolite lava that later fill with chalcedony and agate — plain and unremarkable outside, patterned inside, which is the whole reason anyone cuts them. This slice shows the filled core against the surrounding rhyolite rind.

Pattern, colour and outline are different in every nodule. You will receive a slice comparable to those photographed, not the exact one shown.
